Dermatopathology is a subspecialty of Dermatology and Pathology focusing on the interpretation and diagnosis of skin biopsy specimens. When the diagnosis of a skin rash, tumor or other skin disorder is in question, a skin biopsy may be performed by your dermatologist to evaluate the process on a microscopic level to help gather additional information in aiding the diagnosis, management, and treatment.
