Announcement

As of April 2021, Dr. Norman Lockshin has retired from practicing dermatology. We would like to thank him for his 45+ years of dedication and service to the Rockville and Silver Spring, Maryland community.

Professional Bio

Dr. Norman Lockshin earned his A.B. at Washington and Jefferson College in 1963. In 1967, he graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Following his internship, Dr. Norman Lockshin spent two years with the United States Public Health Service in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Norman Lockshin completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where he later joined the teaching staff. In 1974, he established his dermatology practice in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Norman Lockshin is a board-certified dermatologist and has been on the teaching staff in the department of dermatology at Georgetown University for the past 35 years. He was also on the teaching staff in the department of dermatology at Johns Hopkins University for several years. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition, Dr. Lockshin was past president of The Washington, D.C., Dermatological Society.

Dr. Norman Lockshin has been listed each year since its inception as one of the top physicians in the Washingtonian magazine, and each year he has also been voted by his peers as one of the top dermatologists in the Washington Consumer’s Checkbook Magazine. Dr. Norman Lockshin is also recognized as one of America’s Best Doctors.
