Norman A. Lockshin, MD FAAD FACP
Dr. Norman A. Lockshin earned his A.B. at Washington and Jefferson College in 1963. In 1967, he graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Following his internship, Dr. Lockshin spent two years with the United States Public Health Service in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Lockshin completed his dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he later joined the teaching staff. In 1974, he established his dermatology practice in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Dr. Lockshin is a board certified dermatologist and has been on the teaching staff in the Department of Dermatology at Georgetown University for the past 35 years. He was also on the teaching staff in the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University for several years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In Addition, Dr. Lockshin was past president of The Washington, DC Dermatological Society.
Dr. Lockshin has been consistently listed each year since its inception as one of the top physicians in the Washingtonian Magazine and each year he has also been voted by his peers as one of the top dermatologists in the Washington Consumer’s Checkbook Magazine. Dr. Lockshin is also recognized as one of America’s Best Doctors.
